The TU-144. Top speed of Mach 2 +. Not nearly as successful as Concorde due to a couple of crashes, but still an interesting aircraft.

Never knew it got a NATO designation. I thought that was pretty rare for what was ostensibly a civilian airliner. I guess they figured, probably correctly, that it was a military threat.

Aww it's so cute with its droopy nose and floppy ears!

Russian aircraft design is the best.

IIRC, all soviet aircraft got NATO codenames. Everything that starts with the C is Civilian. Such as the Tu-144 Charger, IL-62 Classic, TU-114 Cleat. Everything that starts with the B is a bomber, such as the TU-95 Bear and TU-160 Blackjack. Everything that starts with an F is a fighter such as the MiG 21 Fishbed, SU-27 Flanker.

Russian and US. NASA used it for some high speed research in the late 90s.
